Cobre's expanded offering of wall art features beautifully reproduced images of Gustave Baumann woodcuts. Gustave Baumann (1881-1971) created color woodcut prints of American rural landscapes. Baumann was active in the era before photo-reproduction replaced wood engraving. He was active in the Chicago and Indiana countryside until he took a trip to Taos, NM......which then became home. He lived in the Santa Fe area for more than 50 years carving into wood southwestern landscapes and spring and summer gardens and orchards. His prints are awash in brilliant, hand-ground pigments. This open edition lithograph was inspired by Baumann's 1927 color woodcut, "Indiana Red Gum". We have just TWO!
