We've been making this Roycroft- style box series for years - people like it so much! These hand-hammered copper boxes were inspired by the "Roycrofters", a collective of turn-of-the-20th century craftsmen active in upstate Aurora, New York. They developed numerous collectible metal pieces and a large body of work. They're practical and make great gifts too!

Grueby Faience Company was founded in 1894 by William Grueby who was inspired by French pottery matte glazes, particularly the cucumber green that became the company's hallmark, and the refined simplicity of Japanese ceramics. In its heyday Grueby was sold through Tiffany Studios in New York City and Gustav Stickley incorporated Grueby tiles in his furniture. We made this hand hammered copper tray in 2014 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Cobre Copper. It was inspired by an Arts & Crafts tray we saw several years before and artist Anselmo Miranda did a beautiful rendition.
