This beautiful plaque was inspired by an English Arts & Crafts charger circa 1905. The plaque's central recessed area is surrounded by trailing tendrils of leaves, exquisitely hand-raised by Anselmo Miranda.

The creator of this design was an amazing woman of her time, Marie Zimmerman (1879-1972). She was active in a “man’s world” creating metal sculptures and objects with a distinctive organic style. She came from a wealthy family, didn’t need to work and had no desire to marry – she was a true maverick. Antonio Ziranda created a beautiful interpretation of Zimmerman’s original vase. We have just ONE!

Antonio created this striking vase for Cobre's 30th anniversary. The fish motif is inspired by "Pescado Blanco" (white fish), a Michoacan delicacy. Lake Patzcuaro is near Antonio's village and home to Pescado Blanco. The flora and fauna of the lake have been a source of inspiration for centuries to potters, weavers, woodcarvers and of course, coppersmiths! Antonio's rendition is substantial and bold - copperwork at its best. Just ONE left!

Cobre's expanded offering of wall art features beautifully reproduced images of Gustave Baumann woodcuts. Gustave Baumann (1881-1971) created color woodcut prints of American rural landscapes. Baumann was active in the era before photo-reproduction replaced wood engraving. He was active in the Chicago and Indiana countryside until he took a trip to Taos, NM.....which then became home. He lived in Santa Fe area for more than 50 years and carved into wood southwestern landscapes and spring and summer gardens and orchards. His prints are awash in brilliant, hand-ground pigments. About our frames: Dard Hunter Studios makes our Oak Park frames that are beautifully hand-finished in quarter sawn white oak . Prints are matted and backed with archival materials. We made this hand hammered copper tray in 2014 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Cobre Copper. It was inspired by an Arts & Crafts tray we saw several years before and artist Anselmo Miranda did a beautiful rendition. Be sure to click the additional image detail to see the intricate blending of the step-beveled rim leading to the repousse flower border and hand cut handles - truly an heirloom piece.
