  • In 1996 I had the good fortune of a return visit to the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. I was eager to visit the Mixtec ruins of Mitla, 30 miles east of the capital. The site is at least 1,000 years old and is filled with carefully cut stone with indigenous patterns. One of those designs was the inspiration for this beautiful platter, crafted by Master Coppersmith, Anselmo Miranda.

  • We made this hand hammered copper tray in 2014 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Cobre Copper. It was inspired by an Arts & Crafts tray we saw several years before and artist Anselmo Miranda did a beautiful rendition. Be sure to click the additional image detail to see the intricate blending of the step-beveled rim leading to the repousse flower border and hand cut handles - truly an heirloom piece.
