New Gustave Baumann Print “Summer Clouds”
Gustave Baumann (1881-1971) spent many years living and working in Chicago and the Indiana countryside but a visit to New Mexico in 1918 turned into a lifetime. Southwestern colors, light and landscape had a profound effect that are captured in this late summer scene “Summer Clouds” (1925). Dard Hunter’s Oak Park frame beautifully complements this nostalgic image.

New Pueblo Style “Feather” Motif Copper Plaque!
In 1994 we started our business by going to the village of Santa Clara del Cobre in Michoacan Mexico with the intention of meeting artists who were interested in working with us. A regular stop was the village museum that displays the best of the best. It was here that we saw a copper plate with this “feather” motif which is how we came to know Everardo Lopez. He has since passed on and Anselmo Miranda has beautifully recreated Everardo’s plaque for this month’s offering. Anselmo has beautifully crafted the feather detail, a motif also popular in Native American Pueblo Pottery. The plaque is 12″ in diameter and with a back hanger can be hung on the wall or placed in a plate rail or sideboard.
