This vase is made by Master Smith, Antonio Ziranda. It’s a classic design called “pina” after the texture of the pineapple. Pineapples, along with avocados and other exotic fruit, are grown in the area called terra caliente, or the hotlands, a few hundred miles south of the artists’ village. In Santa Clara you will see this design everywhere as it is much loved by the locals. As you can imagine it’s technically a very challenging design to produce and only the most confident coppersmiths attempt it. The vase is 8″ high x 9″ wide and priced at $260 there is only ONE so don’t delay!
