    A lovely little bowl we saw on a recent trip to the Santa Barbara Mission in Southern California was the inspiration for this month's newsletter.  The original bowl is in the museum at the mission and dates back to the 1830's.  A vine with abstracted flowers is incised into the bowl and twines its way around the perimeter.
